Poor Colby Pants....

My poor little peanut butter has Influenza. :( We've been fighting a high fever for almost a week, sometimes up over 104. I took him in on Monday to make sure his ears were ok, and they were--they told me at that time to push fluids & do the Tylenol round the clock and if no better in a few days to come back...so we went back today! They did cultures for strep throat & Influenza, did a blood draw to rule out any infections, and gave him an antibiotic Rocephin shot as preventative. Poor baby! We both cried & cried. The influenza culture was positive, but since he's under a year he can't have the Tamiflu treatment yet--gotta just keep up what we're doing. We are going to give Ryan the Tamiflu just as preventative, so he doesn't get this. Colby's contagiousness should be about up, so Ryan will be covered for another 10 days..bless his heart, he's been so healthy. Not a sniffle, thank God. The other kids at the babysitter's house have had this junk, so I'm sure glad Ryan's gotten through unscathed!! Must be those Flintsone Vitamins!! :) He'll tell you how strong they make him!! Anyway, it's sure been a tough week--long days, long nights, little sleep, lots of tears...by all of us!! So we're muddling through and taking care of our boys--keep us in your prayers!!!

Hi, Hello, & How Do Ya Do!?!??!

Hello again! I know it's been awhile, these boys keep me hoppin!! They just change and get cuter every single day!! :) And talk about hilarious! Ryan just loves going over to our babysitter's house--every morning that we pull up, it's "Joy's house! Joy's house!" I have to wrestle a hug outta the kid--which is so nice. ; ) I'm so glad he loves going there, she's great. And they have such fun over there! The other day he told me he had pizza-soup for lunch (??), a 3-minute nap, and watched Scooby Doo. :) All in a day! Whew! :) When I say "Momma luvs you big guy", he grins and says "Yep!" He's such a lovey kid. :) Hugs & cuddles & kisses abound!!--most of the time...sometimes I ask him for a kiss & he says "no way!" :)
"Little" Colby....has been rollin over and thinking it's funny!! Surprise!! He loves his brother, and belly-laughs all the time. Very happy baby. Eatin like crazy, now that he decided he LIKES solids. Not picky, that's for sure!! Still doesn't believe in sleep during the day, but has been doing great at night!! :) Gets up once if even! And he got to move into the big boy bedroom with his brother! Ryan thinks this is the COOLEST to have HIS baby sleepin in the same room! They've been doing great!! Pleasant surprise!! : ) My little boys, best friends already. I LOVE IT!!!!!
It's been such a blessing to have our sweet healthy babies. They're so much fun, and I love them more than life. Even the days I want to give them to the zoo....I always want them back. ; ) Nothing says happy like these giggles, I tell you what.
I went out on the town tonite with my friend Gwen--it was fun to get out & chat. We went and grabbed a bite to eat,and then went to see "27 dresses"---very good movie, I thought it was hilarious. Can't wait till our next date, Gweneth....I love you Gwen.. ; )
Nate's quitting his second job! His last day is this weekend--exciting stuff for his family that misses him. : ) He's worked at Columbus Electronics for close to a year & a half, and we've decided it's time he gets to spend evenings & weekends with us!! So watch out world, here we come....the 4 Smoleks, on the loose!! Yay!! : )

I took Colby in today for a recheck on his ears, and they are clear & healthy, amen! :) it's been obvious by how happy he's been, but it's good to get the official word too. so after his appt we went to see daddy at work, and went out for lunch with my grandma della, whom ryan adores. :) had to go have pizza, cuz it's ryan's favorite! uncle nae nae calls him "little ceaser" b/c every time you ask him what he wants to eat, he says "pizza! pizza!" ;) so cute that little boy! anyway, ryan went with us to the dr and he did so well! he loves it, b/c they have chalkboards in the exam rooms, so he's entertained. :) mom loves it to... and that tiny little baby colby weighs 19.1 lbs now...geez! everytime i take him in, he gains 1/2 a pound! :) we are soooo very thankful for these big, healthy babies!
we had a fun day yesterday, went to yankton, sd with my parents, brother, nephew, rachel, & aleah! we went to JoDean's to eat (yummy!!) and just bummed around their mall & K-mart! gotta luv it! it was really fun, came back to norfolk & hung out at nathan's house. ryan just had a BALL. loved playing with aleah (EE-Ahh!) : ) my brother's on his way to see van halen tonight in omaha, he'll have a great time. : ) glad he gets to do fun things, he works hard for it! anyway, just thought i'd do a quick post while both boys are sleeping! yay! i even got my kitchen floors cleaned & my bathroom cleaned! who-hoo! not very often do they nap at the same time! it's great when it happens. : ) so we'll get some new pics up soon, and i'm gonna go do some laundry while the gettin's good! peace out!
